We built their website for them a few years ago when Joomla 1.5 was the current platform, they wanted the site built on a content managed platform, so that they could administer their own updates and keep their product range and news up to date. Earlier this year they decided it was time to upgrade the site to the current Joomla 3.6 version, whilst retaining the design.
We appraised the site to see what would be required in the update. We decided to go the migration route, rather than rebuild. The site was reasonably large with many products so migrating the core content of the site to the latest version of Joomla made a lot of sense. This way, it meant that the sites URLs all remained the same so the SEO was not effected. The sites components and modules were then updated. With a bit of tidying up and testing the new site was made live. The site is now more secure and all future updates to the Joomla platform and plugins are easy to deploy and keep up to date.
